Sports training requires consistency to enable achievement of fitness targets. However, that doesn’t mean that you start panicking if you miss a couple of sessions. What really matters is the continuation of the program and not a particular exercise session. Hence, aim to be consistent in your training and you will do well in the program. It is always better to be realistic about what you can achieve in the time that you devote to the sports training program. You may want to have six pack abs within a month but the actual achievement of this goal will depend upon your previous fitness level. If you have been inactive most of your life and are not fit to begin with, it will not be practical to expect a toned midriff in a short time. Any fitness goal takes time and you have to be patient. The important thing is that you must be honest with yourself about your potential and current fitness. If you have a time crunch and can devote just a few hours every week to sports training, you should not expect to make it successfully through a marathon in a few months. Another reason for you to be practical about your goals is that if you over exert in the hope of reaching your target, your body may revolt by making you more injury prone. An injury can be the worst thing in any training program as it brings all the workouts to a halt, causing you to be back to your previous unfit self. Thus, set achievable goals and plan carefully. If you are totally new to the work out, give yourself some time to adjust to it before straining yourself to become the best. Motivation stays strong only if you manage to reach the small goals you have set for yourself in the program.
